Obituary- Parr, Joe
Was lifelong resident of Rossville
Joe Parr, lifelong Rossville farmer, died Feb. 18 at his home of a heart attack.
He was born Feb. 19, 1896, at the family home southwest of Rossville, the son of Joseph and Minnie (Kelsey) Parr.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Rossville, the Hesperian Lodge No. 1ll, AF&AM, and was a past commander of the Venice Doud Post of the American Legion.
On May 12, 1923, he was married to Esther Pratt of Topeka.
Mr. Parr was a veteran of World War I, having served in the Army Medical Corps, and was a member of the Rossville City Council for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Esther Parr, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia J. Gentry, and a son, Rolland D. Parr, both of Rossville; and four grandchildren.
Services and interment were held Friday in Rossville.

ROSSVILLE—Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rossville United Methodist Church for Joe Parr, 73, lifelong Rossville farmer who died Wednesday at his home here.
He was born Feb. 19, 1896 at Rossville.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Hesperian Lodge No. Ill, AF&AM, both at Rossville, and was past commander of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31, American Legion, also at Rossville.
He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Army Medical Corps.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Esther Parr at home; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia J. Gen¬try, Rossville; a son, Rolland D. Parr, Rossville, and four grandchildren.
Burial will be at Rossville Cemetery. Parker Mortuary, Topeka, is in charge of arrangements.
