Leroy C. Parr
Leroy Charles “Lee” Parr, 81, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002, at a Topeka nursing home.

He was born April 5, 1920, at Rossville, the son of Ray and Edna Immenschuh Parr. He graduated from Rossville Grade and High School and attended Emporia State College before going into farming with his father. He farmed with his father and brother until his father retired. In 1968, after buying the Keller farm near Delia, Mr. Parr moved his farming and cattle operation there.

He was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church. He later transferred his membership to the Delia Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder.

He was a member of the Hesperian Lodge 111 at Rossville and was Master there different years. In 1953, he was District Deputy Grand Master for District No. 20, and served as Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Rossville.

Upon moving to Delia he transferred his membership to the Delia Lodge No. 419 in 1969. He was a member of the Delia Lions Club. He served on the Farmers Union Cooperative Board of Directors at St. Marys. In 1964, he served as vice chairman of the Shawnee County ASC committee, was treasurer of Lincoln Township for several years, helped coach the Pee-wees and Little League in Rossville, and was also 4-H community and project leader for many years.

On December 28, 1946, he married Wanda June Keller. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Jane Parr, Ponte Verde Beach, FL, and Janice Nash, Arlington, TX; a son, KelLee Parr, Topeka; one brother, Duane Parr, Rossville; and two grandchildren.

His service was at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka, followed by a Masonic service conducted by Delia Lodge No. 419 AF&AM. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. Visitation was from 1 p.m. to service time Saturday at the mortuary.
