Ralph L. Pitts Jr.
DELIA - Ralph L. Pitts Jr., 72, Delia, died Friday at his home. He had cancer.

He was born Nov. 28, 1908, at Wheeling, Mo., the son of Ralph Pitts Sr., and Elza Staley Pitts. He lived at Willard, Rossville and Maple Hill before he moved to Delia nine years ago.

Mr. Pitts was a retired carpenter and dairy farmer.

He was married to Geraldine Friesen on Dec. 20, 1933, at Kansas City. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Henderson, Carbondale, Mrs. Linda Downie, 4843 N.W. 78th, Topeka, and Mrs. Nancy Mercer, Delia; a son, Ralph L. Pitts III, White City; a brother, Staley L. Pitts, West Covina, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka. Mr. Pitts will lie in state until service time at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Delia Presbyterian Church, Delia, 66418.
