Dr. H.F. Pratt
Dr. Henry Fuller Pratt, 73, died at his home, 1118 Taylor street, Topeka, Sunday night. He was born in Kossuth, O., December 8, 1861. Four years later he moved with his parents to Topeka.

Later he returned to Ohio to enter the Ohio Medical college, now the medical college in the University of Cincinnati, and received his M.D. degree there in 1884.

He returned to Topeka the following year as resident physician at Christ’s hospital, the first interne to serve that institution. He then practiced two years at Rossville, and eight years at Beverly, Lincoln county, Kan. In 1895 he returned to Rossville and practiced there for 24 years until 1919 when he returned to Topeka. Several years ago he retired from medical practice, due to failing health.

While at Rossville he was president of the Peoples State Bank. He continued to serve as vice president after going to Topeka.

In 1888 Dr. Pratt married Miss Jennie DeVinney of Chillicothe, O. Mrs. Pratt passed away April 4, 1931.

Dr. Pratt was the oldest member of Hesperian Lodge, No. 111, A. F. & A. M. of Rossville, and a member of the York Rite and Scottish Rite bodies at Topeka. He was also a member of the Modern Woodmen and the Royal Neighbors.

He is survived by a son, Dudley J. Pratt, College Station, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Esther Parr, Rossville; two grandchildren, Roland and Virginia Parr; and two brothers, O. Albion Pratt and John D. Pratt of Topeka.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Conwell funeral home in Topeka, conducted by Rev. Wright Horton of the Rossville M. E. church. A eulogy spoken in words most fitting, and a tribute to the deceased, was given by Mr. Horton.

The music was furnished by Mrs. William Hesse, Mrs. Art Wallerstedt, Mrs. C. E. Gresser, and Mrs. Peter Navarre, with Miss Edith Higginbotham as accompanist. Members of the Knight Templars assisted with the funeral services. Hesperian lodge conducted burial services at Rossville cemetery.

The pall bearers were William Hese, A. L. Ruff, F. P. McCollough, Ted Fields, C. E. Gresser, C. W. Vorhies, A. N. White and Hudson McCollough.
