Mrs. Elsie M. Rasch
ROSSVILLE - Mrs. Elsie Marie Rasch, 68, Rossville, died Thursday, May 15, at her home.
Mrs. Rasch was a horticultural therapist at the Menninger Foundation in Topeka for five years.
She was born Aug. 18, 1917, north of Silver Lake, the daughter of Emil Philip and Rosa Devorak Bahner. She lived north of Silver Lake until she was married, then in Rossville.
Mrs. Rasch was a member of the United Methodist Church, member and past worthy matron of Amaryllis Chapter No. 321 of Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Rossville Literary Music Circle, all at Rossville. She also was a past district aide of District No. 17, Grand Chapter of Kansas, Order of Eastern Star.
She was married to Marion “Bud” Rasch May 14, 1939, at Walnut Hill in Shawnee County. He died Sept. 7, 1980.
Survivors include a daughter, Carla Rasch, Lawrence; two sons, Wayne Rasch, Athens, Ga., and Ronald Rasch, San Francisco, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Brees, Delia, Mrs. Christina Zickefoose, Rossville, and Mrs. Lorraine Billingsley, Topeka; two brothers, Milton Bahner, Rossville, and Harvey Bahner, Topeka; and five grandchildren.
Services at 11 a.m. Saturday will be followed by Star services conducted by Amaryllis Chapter No. 321 at the United Methodist Church in Rossville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.
Mrs. Rasch will lie in state from 1 until 9 p.m. today at Parkpr-Price Mortuary in Topeka where relatives and friends will meet from 7 until 8 p.m. today. She later will lie in state an hour before service time at the church in Rossville. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, Rossville, 66533, or Topeka Hospice Inc., 824 Washburn, 66606.
