Obituary- Ray, Clayton

Clayton H. Ray
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home for Clayton H. Ray, 67, Topeka. He died Thursday Dec. 10, 1987, in a Topeka hospital.

Mr. Ray worked for Pashman Construction of Topeka for 43 years until he retired about five years ago because of failing health. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and received a Purple Heart.

He was born June 24, 1920, in Harveyville, the son of Frank and Millie Ruppert Ray, and spent most of his life in the Topeka area.

He was married to Alta Vera Mulanax April 14, 1956, in Topeka. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Raymond A. Ray, Lamar, Mo.; a daughter, Arlene Yost, Topeka; two brothers, Fred Ray, Topeka, and Eddie Frank Ray, Jenks, Okla.; three sisters, Nellie Pierce and Mildred Wright, both of Topeka, and Pearl Marney, Grand Junction, Colo.; and six grandchildren.

Philip Billard Post No. 1650 of Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military graveside services in Rochester Cemetery. Mr. Ray will lie in state from 1 p.m. today until service time at the funeral home, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2913 Plass Court, 66611.
