George C. Reimler
St. Marys-Ret. Chief Warrant Officer George C. Reimler, 83, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the St. Marys Community Hospital.
He was born December 12, 1925 at Lupus, MO., the son of Charles W. and Mary K. Schaffer Reimler. He grew up in the Lupus community and attended Prairie Home High School, Prairie Home, MO.

George served in Germany during WWII. He met Lydia Steinruck; they married on June 30, 1948 at Konigshofen, Bavaria, Germany. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. Mr. Reimler later was the first Administrator at St. Marys Manor, holding that position from 1965 until his retirement in the early 1980's. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys, Aubert-Wall VFW, St. Marys, and Jimmie Lillard Post NO. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville. Mr. Reimler was elected to the St. Marys City Council and had served as Mayor. He had also been active in the St. Marys Chamber of Commerce.

George was a Loving Husband, Father, Opa and Uncle.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Reimler in 1984 and a sister, Lilly Bueker in 2008.

Survivors include his wife of almost 61 years Lydia of the home; four daughters, Heidy (Ron) Elniff, Concordia; Cindy (Roger) Erichsen, Milford; Debbie (Tom) Brunin, St. Marys; and Christine Reimler, Alma; three brothers, Robert (Chlora) Reimler, Centertown, MO; Frank (Janet) Reimler and Ralph (Connie) Reimler all of Jamestown, MO.; seven grandsons, Nathan, Matthew, Nicholas, Ryan, Andrew, Phillip and Christopher.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 19, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mr. Reimler will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Piper Funeral Home where there will be a Prayer Vigil at 6:30 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
