Obituary- Reser, Monterville

MONTERVTLLE RESER
Monterville Reser was born near St. George, Kansas, March 30, 1879. He passed from this life in Topeka, July 30, 1935, at the age of 56 years and 4 months.
He was united in marriage to CarŽrie BlackJer on September 7, 1904. To this union six children were born, of whom one preceded him in death. Mrs. Reser passed away May 9, 1932.
He was married again to Alice Carpenter, April 1, 1934. She is left to mourn his going, as are also five children, Freda of Topeka; Harold, of Lawrence; Rosalie and Mrs. MarŽgaret Doty all of Rossville; and a step-son, Charles Carpenter. Other surviving relatives include one grand child; five brothers, Christopher, of Holton; Edward of Menoken; John of Dover; Albert and William of Rossville; three sisters, Mrs. Grace Kesler, Rossville; Mrs. Zella Elson and Mrs. Arminta McMullen of Fullerton, California.
Except for two years spent in ColŽorado and a year in Wisconsin, Mr. Reser had spent practically all his life near here. He was a member of the Christian church, of kindly spirit, neighborly, and devoted to his family.


Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. Horton. Music was furnished by a quartet of ladies, Mrs. A. G. Wallerstedt, Mrs. Wm. Hesse, Mrs. C. E. Gresser and Mrs. E. E. Witter, accompanied by Miss Edith Higginbotham. Pallbearers were Cecil LeŽmon, M.L. Whearty, L.D. Fauerbach, John Kinnett, William Sanders and Ernest Shoebotham.
Burial was in the Rossville cemeŽtery.


Among those present for the funŽeral of Monterville Reser, from out-of-town, were Mr. and Mrs. Chris Reser of Holton; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Reser of Delia; Mr. and Mrs. John Reser of Dover; Mrs. Elizabeth Schoonover, Mrs. L.W. Hammond, Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Gibbs and Mrs. R.F. Schoonover, all of Topeka.


Mrs. Mont Reser and son Buster left today for Topeka with her houseŽhold goods. She will make her home with her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Schoonover for the present.
