Obituary- Reser, Melvin 2
Melvin “Ben” Reser
Melvin “Ben” Reser, 89, Tope¬ka, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at a Topeka hospital. He was born November 17, 1911, in Rossville, the son of Wil¬liam L. and Laura Pearl Wood Re¬ser. He lived in Silver Lake and in Lyndon from 1962, until he moved to Topeka in 1992.
Mr. Reser had been a self-em¬ployed carpenter working as Reser Carpentry in the Topeka, Silver Lake and Lyndon communities. He also served on the Silver Lake City Council for several years.
On August 31, 1937, he mar¬ried Christine Stich in Flush. She died September 10, 1982.
Survivors include two sons, William J. Reser and Richard M. Reser, both of Topeka; two broth¬ers, Randall Reser, Topeka, and Robert Reser, Tecumseh; a sister, Nadine Jones, Topeka; three grand¬children; four stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildrcn.
His service was at 11 a.m. Sat¬urday at Feltner Funeral Home Chapel, Lyndon. Burial was in Lyndon Cemetery. Visitation was Friday evening at the funeral chap¬el.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association and sent in care of the fu¬neral home.
