Obituary- Ribelin, Rosie

Rosie Ann Ribelin
ROSSVILLE — Rosie Ann Ribelin, 93, Rossville, died Monday, March 8, 1999, at a Rossville nursing home.

She was born Dec. 7, 1905, in the Dover Township in Shawnee County, the daughter of Elmer E. Morand Sr. and Telia Laxton Morand. She attended country school near Dover, and she moved to Topeka in 1962. She moved to Rossville from Topeka in 1995.

Mrs. Ribelin was a member of Dover Rebecca Lodge.

She married Willis S. Ribelin on April 30, 1924, in Topeka. He died Oct. 11, 1980. Mrs. Ribelin also was preceded in death by a daugh¬ter, Anna Mae Brown, in May 1996, and two grandchildren, Bobby Ribelin and Gerald Brown.

Survivors include six sons, Joe Ribelin, Denver, Karl Ribelin, Osage City, Jess Ribelin, Mayetta, Steve Ribelin, Topeka, Robert Ribelin, Oklahoma City, and Richard Ribelin, Valley Falls; a brother, Elmer E. Morand Jr. Houston; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Dover Federated Church in Dover. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery. Mrs. Ribelin will lie in state from noon to 9 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dover Federated Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
