Obituary- Rogers, Clyde 1
Clyde Rogers dies Saturday at his home
Clyde H. Rogers, 62, prominent farmer and stockman, died Saturday, Jan. 1, at his home a mile south of Rossville. He had been a patient in a Topeka hospital from Dec. 27-Dec. 31. He had a heart ailment.
Mr. Rogers was born Apr. 11, 1909, at Dover and spent most of his life in the Rossville community. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Hesperian Lodge No. 111, AF&AM, Rossville; Scottish Rite bodies and Arab Shrine in Topeka. He was also a member of the Kansas Livestock Association.
Mr. Rogers was a member of the board of directors of Silver Lake State Bank, and served on the Shawnee County area planning board.
He was married to Fern Pendleton Aug. 6, 1936, at Riley. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter: Mrs. Jane Fritz, Los Alamitos, Calif.; a son: Don Rogers, Maple Hill; a sister: Mrs. Ocea Zaleuke; a grandson: John Warren Rogers, Maple Hill.
Services were held Tuesday at the Parker Mortuary, Topeka, with burial in the Rossville Cemetery. The Hesperian Lodge conducted graveside services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville United Methodist Church or to the American Heart Association.
