Obituary- Ross, Adam
Adam Ross Passes Away
Adam Ross passed away last Monday afternoon after being bedfast for about four weeks. Mr. Ross had not been in the best of health for about a year. Mr. Ross was a veteran of the civil war being a member of Company D. 149th Ohio Inf. He was born in Ross county Ohio, March 11th, 1838, being 77 years, 6 months and 2 days old at the time of his death. He moved from his old home in Ohio in 1885, coming to Wamego, Kansas, where he lived until 1890 when he moved to Rossville where he had resided since. On September 16th, 1866 he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Ault. To this union were born five children, three boys and two girls. The three boys preceded him to the great beyond. He is survived by his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Dell Porter and Miss Alice Ross and three grandchildren. The funeral services were held from the M. E. church conducted by Rev. Ward, and interment made in the Rossville cemetery. Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Fred Simms and two daughters, of Dennison, Lee Ross and Mrs. Celina Ross and daughter Mrs. Cutright of Wamego, Jess Ross and Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Porter of Holton, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Ross of Belvue.
