Mrs. Anna Marie Saia
EMMETT — Mrs. Anna Marie Saia, 93, Emmett, died late Thursday, July 23, 1987, at a Topeka hospital.

Mrs. Saia and her husband owned and operated a general store in Emmett many years.

She was born Nov. 15, 1893, at Emmett, the daughter of Slavna and Elizabeth Kalcik.

Mrs. Saia was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church at Emmett and the Altar Sodality of the church.

She was married to Samuel L. Saia in September 1912 at Delia. He died July 20, 1944.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marie Holligan, Colorado Springs, and Mrs. LaVerne Holligan, Denver; a son, Marion J. Saia, Emmett; a brother, Edward Kalcik, Scranton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys.
