Obituary- Sebring, Margaret
Margaret Reser Sebring
Margaret Reser was born in Scott county, Ky., May 25, 1826, and died with a paraletic stroke May 5, 1914, age 77 years, 11 months and 10 days.
She was married to John Sebring in 1858, to this union were born twelve children; six children and her husband proceeding her to the better world. The living are Ira of Topeka, Austin and Charles of Rossville and Wesley, George and Mrs. Maude Hart of Westmoreland, also four brothers and two sisters, all of whom were able to attend the funeral, but one sister of Topeka and one brother of Rossville.
Mrs. Sebring became a Christian in early girl-hood and had since lived a good Christian life. She was a loving mother, a kind sister and a good neighbor, and her many friends and neighbors will indeed miss her.
Mrs. Sebring, with her husband and children, came to Kansas some 40 years ago and resided upon their farm, four miles south of Westmoreland ever since.
The funeral services were held at the house on Thursday at 10 a.m. and were conducted by Rev. H. S. Bowers. The remains were laid to rest in the Westmoreland cemetery by the side of her husband.
Mr. and Mrs. Austin Sebring, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sebring, Mrs. Arvilla Sebring, Anthony Ruff, Z. Reser, Mont Reser, and Moss Reser, attended the funeral of Mrs. Margaret Sebring, which was held Thursday at Westmoreland.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Sebring were called to Westmoreland yesterday by the news of the death of Mr. Sebring’s mother, which occurred Tuesday evening. Mrs. Sebring had been a resident of Pottawatomie county for many years.
