Obituary- Seitz, William V.


ST. MARYS — William V. ''Bill” Seitz, 94, St. Marys, died Monday, Sept. 13,2004, at a St. Marys care facility.

Mr. Seitz farmed in the St. Marys area until retiring in 1975.

He was born Aug. 1,1910, on the Seitz family farm near St. Marys, to John P. and Mary Eva Kramer Seitz. He attended Rock Grade School and high school in St. Marys. He was a lifelong resident of the St. Marys community.

Mr. Seitz was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 657, both in St. Marys.

He married Alice E. McNeive on Nov. 27,1937, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Della She preceded him in death on April 17, 2003.

Survivors include two sisters, Regina Chesney, Albuquerque, N.M., and Loretta Doll, Topeka and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys. Mr. Seitz will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and sent in care of the funeral home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys. Kan. 66536.


William V. Seitz William V. “Bill” Seitz, 94, St. Marys, died Monday, September 13, 2004, at St. Marys Manor.

He was born August 1, 1910, on the family farm near St. Marys, the son of John P. and Mary Eva Kramer Seitz.

Bill had lived in the St. Marys community all of his life. He grew up on the family farm near St. Marys. He attended Rock Grade School, and high school in St. Marys. He farmed until his retirement in 1975 and moved into St. Marys.

He was member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 657, both in St. Marys.

He was married to Alice E. McNeive on November 27, 1937, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia. She died April 17, 2003.

Survivors include two sisters, Regina Chesney, Albuquerque, NM, and Loretta Doll, Topeka; and many nieces and nephews.
