FRANK JESSE SIMECKA
Frank Jesse Simecka, 89, St. Marys, died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the Wamego City Hospital.

He was born Sept. 17, 1916 near Delia, the son of John and Nettie Scheidegger Simecka.

Frank attended Delia Schools and entered the United States Army in September 1940 and served in the 3rd Army under Patton until Oct. 31,1945.

Frank lived in St. Marys for many years. He worked 20 years at the Farmers Union Coop in St. Marys. He was an avid gardener. Frank was a member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church.

He was united in marriage to Stella Manis Winters on Dec. 16, 1949. She died Dec. 9, 1996.

He is survived by a son, Delbert Simecka, Belvue, and his children Alayna and Cameron; two step-daughters, Wanda Phillips, in Mississippi, and her children Jackie and Gary, and Patricia Meyer, in Washington, and her children Tammy and Tracy; a brother John Simecka, St. Marys; six great-grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren

Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 6 at Valley View Cemetery in St. Marys.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home.
