William Bryan Simecka
ST. MARYS — William Bryan Simecka, 90, St. Marys, died Saturday, March 25, 1995, at a St. Marys nursing home.

Mr. Simecka owned and operated St. Marys Real Estate before he retired.

He was born Aug. 22, 1904, in Delia, the son of John and Nettie Schneidegger Simecka.

Mr. Simecka was a member of St. Marys United Methodist Church, Pottawatomie Lodge No. 52 AF&AM, Artha Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the St. Marys Chamber of Commerce. He had served on the St. Marys school board and was a volunteer firefighter for many years.

He was married to Regina Rezac on May 15, 1926, at Harrisonville, Mo. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Betty Simecka, Topeka; five sons, Richard Simecka, Topeka; Dr. William Simecka, Las Vegas, Karl Simecka, Boulder City, Nev., Don Simecka, Fort Collins, Colo., and Terry Simecka, St. Marys; three brothers, Jim Simecka, Delia, and Jesse Simecka and John Simecka, both of St. Marys; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Marys United Methodist Church. Burial with graveside services conducted by Pottawatomie Lodge No. 52 AF&AM will be at Valley View Cemetery in St. Marys. Mr. Simecka will lie in state from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home where relatives and friends will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Marys United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
