Obituary- Slattery, C.A. 3

A. ‘Neil’ Slattery
ROSSVILLE - C.A. “Neil” Slattery, 76, Rossville, was dead on arrival at a Topeka hospital late Monday morning. He had a heart ailment and had been a patient in the same hospital earlier.

He was born July 17,1901, at Mayetta and spent most of his life at Mayetta. He moved to Rossville 11 years ago.

Mr. Slattery was a farmer many years and had worked for International-Harvester dealerships at Hoyt and Rossville.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Golden Agers and Friendly Neighbors, all at Rossville.

He was married to Julia Cochren Nov. 17,1923, at Holton. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Paul W. Slattery, Mayetta; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Cummings, 3115 Meriden Road; five sisters, Margaret Slattery, 1125 Quincy, Mrs. Gladys Tork, 1205 Quincy, Mrs. Mary Wells, Holton, Mrs. Gertrude Brewer, 113 E. 12th, and Mrs. Mildred Dubke, Bronson, Mich.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Rossville. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery at Hoyt.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to the coronary care unit at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka.
