Obituary- Sorden, Charles 2
Charles W. Sorden
Charles W. Sorden, 77, Rossville, died Sunday, November 6, 1994, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Sorden owned and operated Skelly Service Station in Lee’s Summit, MO, for 18 years. He later was a mechanic at Virgil’s Automotive Repair in Lee’s Summit, MO, until he retired in 1980. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was born April 9, 1917, in Campion, CO, the son of Walter and Fawn Deer Sorden. He moved to Rossville in the late spring of 1994.
Mr. Sorden was a member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lee’s Summit, MO.
He was marred to Henrietta Hinkle on November 13, 1945. She died in July, 1980.
Survivors include two sisters, Flora Stwalley, Topeka, and Phyllis Miller, Rossville; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Langsford-Cox Chapel in Lee’s Summit, MO. Burial was in Floral Hills East Cemetery in Lee’s Summit.
