August L. Stach
August L. Stach, 89, Rossville, died Wednesday, June 7, 1989, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Stach was a farmer and stockman.
He was born Sept. 16, 1899, north¬east of Rossville, the son of Frank and Frances Smatla Stach. He spent his life in the Rossville community.
Mr. Stach was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Delia, a 50-year member of the ZCBJ Lodge No. 128 and a 40-year member of Jim¬mie Lillard American Legion Post No. 31, both in Rossville, and a member of the Good Neighbors Or¬ganization.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Stach was married to Lydia Penaz Scott Nov. 18, 1964, in Man¬hattan. She survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Frank Stach and Bennie Stach, both of Rossville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Satur¬day at the Presbyterian Church in Delia. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Jimmie Lillard American Legion Post No. 31 at the Czech-Moravian Cemetery northeast of Rossville.
Mr. Stach will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
