Two youths die in crash
Two youths died of injuries received in a one-car accident shortly before midnight Friday on the Rossville-Delia road. The accident occurred five miles north of Rossville.
Dead are Benjamin M. Stach, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Stach, and Donald R. Frederick, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Frederick, Rossville.
Bennie was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, while the Frederick youth died SaturŽday in a Topeka hospital.
The car left the blacktop road and plunged into a ditch. There was a heavy fog at the time. It was reported there were no skid marks, and it appeared the car left the highway gradually.
Funeral services for Bennie were held Monday at the Ross-ville Presbyterian Church with interment in the Moravian Cem-etery.
The funeral Mass for Donald was celebrated Tuesday mornŽing at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia, with interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.
Bennie Stach, a senior at Rossville High School, was born March 13, 1949. He was an acŽtive member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church, president of the Rossville High School FFA chapter, and a member of the football squad.
Survivors include his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Ben Stach; a brother, Robert, a student a Kansas State University; a sister, Sherri Ann Stach, of the home; and a grandmother: Mrs. Katie Hundertfund, Topeka.
Donald Richard Frederick was born Oct. 3, 1948, and was a 1966 graduate of Delia High School. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Delia, where he served as an altar boy for ten years.
