Obituary- Stach, William
WILLIAM STACH
William Stach, 63, of 333 Harri¬son street, Topeka, resident of Shaw¬nee county for the past 43 years, died at the Santa Fe hospital, last Thursday afternoon after a pro¬longed illness of six months.
He was born near Rossville Aug¬ust 8, 1872, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stach who were early Kansas pioneers. His early life was spent in ranching in Shawnee and Jack¬son counties. He had been a rail¬road employee since 1900, working for the A.T. & S.F. the past 14 years and a resident of Topeka since 1919. He was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Bauer Stach; two daugh¬ters, Miss Margaretha A. Stach, Sap Francisco, Calif., and Miss Martha Stach, Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Mongold, Newman, and Mrs. John Ausherman, Delia, Kan.; two brothers, Joseph Stach, Guerneville, Calif., and Louis Stach, Kansas City, Kan. Another brother, the late John Stach, preceded him in December, 1934.
Funeral services were held at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church at Topeka, Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. George Hoyer in charge. Burial was in Topeka cemetery.
