Obituary- Stafford, Harriett 2

Harriett A. Stafford
Harriett A. Stafford, 86, of Topeka, died June 1,2013, at Midland Hospice House.

She was born in Topeka on Jan. 7,1927, the daughter of Peter and Alice (Barrett) Miller.

Harriett graduated from Topeka High School. She worked for Luce Press Clippings, Pelletiers and then for the State Fire Marshall's Office where she worked in the Arson Division. She loved humor, riding motorcycles, flying, cooking, family occasions, and animals.

She was a KISS fan and was a ballerina in her youth. Harriett was a former member of the Eastern Star.

She married Claude E. "Doc” Stafford on Oct. 18, 1947, in Rossville. He preceded her in death in 2005.

Harriett is survived by a daughter, Vicki Staf ford-Looka and her husband, Lorin, of Topeka; a son, Terry Stafford and his wife, Sheryl, of Topeka; two grandchildren, Natalie and Hilarie Stafford; and five great-grandchildren, Clayton, Evan, Nathan, Alan, and Halie. She was also survived by a brother, Robert Peter Miller of Topeka, and was preceded in death by six siblings.

A funeral service was held June 4 at Brennan- Mathena Funeral Home. Interment followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.
