Randy L. Bennett

Services for Randy L. Bennett will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville for Randy L. Bennett, 34, Chandler, Ariz. Formerly of Rossville, who died Thursday, October 1, 1992, at his home. Authorities said he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He was born December 31, 1957, in Topeka, the son of Kenneth L. and Norma Reicherter Bennett. He grew up in Rossville and lived in Berryton before he moved to Chandler in 1988.

He was active in boy’s baseball programs in Berryton and Phoenix. He was a truck driver for Headlee Roofing Company in Phoenix.

He was married to Carol Evans June 18, 1977, in Topeka. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Jason Bennett and Tanner Bennett, both of Mesa, Ariz.; his parents, Kenneth and Norma Bennett, Rossville; grandmothers, Mary Olson, Rossville, and Teresa Reicherter, Seneca; a brother, Mark Bennett, Topeka; and a sister, Yvonne Bennett, Rossville.

Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Bennett will lie in state after 2 p.m. Tuesday (today) at Verschelden Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to an Educational Fund for Jason and Tanner Bennett and sent in care of the funeral home.
