Glenn Stalker
Private services were held for Glenn Stalker, 78, Sacramento, Calif., a former Kansan who died Sunday, March 6, 1988, at a Sacramento hospital.
Mr. Stalker was chief executive officer of the California Almond Growers Exchange 15 years before he retired in 1975.
He was born February 26, 1910, in Kirk County, Colo., the son of Fred and Anna Ward Stalker. He grew up in Rossville, and attended Rossville schools. He later attended Washburn College in Topeka, where he was captain of the football team in 1934. He was graduated from Leland Stanford University School of Business at Palo Alto, Calif.
Mr. Stalker was named to the Washburn University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1983.
He was a member of Del Paso Country Club and president of the club in 1972 and 1973. He also was a member of the Grandfather’s Club. He was a member of a Masonic Lodge and Royal Order of Jesters.
He was married to Gladys Fawcett December 24, 1936, at Denver, Colo. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Craig Stalker and Gary Stalker, both of Sacramento, and Richard Stalker, Reno, Nev.; a sister, Mrs. Kathryn “Beth” Lauck, Woodland, Calif.; two brothers, Orville Stalker, El Paso, Tx. and Clinton Stalker Sr., Satanta, Ks.; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Stalker was cremated. Inurnment was in East Lawn Cemetery, Sacramento. Memorial contributions may be made to United Parkinson’s Foundation, 560 W. Superior, Chicago, 60604. East Lawn Mortuary, Sacramento, was in charge of arrangements.
