Obituary- Startup, Bessie 1

Mrs. Bessie Startup
Mrs. Bessie L. Startup, 83, Rossville, died Friday afternoon in Topeka hospital where she was admitted Friday morning. She had a heart attack.

She was born Sept. 10, 1890, in Kentucky and lived in the Rossville community the past 65 years. She had been employed in restaurants at Rossville and Silver Lake many years.

Her husband, Walter Startup, died Feb. 5,1972.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Cook, Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. Mabel Sommer, Kansas City, Kan.: seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Park Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Cook, Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. Mabel Sommer. Kansas City, Ks.; two sisters. Mrs. Rae Trimble, Rossville and Mrs. Emma Waller, Topeka; seven grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary, Topeka. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville Christian Church.
