Obituary- Steele, Rodney
Rodney Duane Steele
LONG BEACH, Calif. — Rodney Duane Steele, 30, Long Beach, formerly of St. Marys, died Wednesday, July 24, 1991, at home. He had cancer.
Mr. Steele had been a plumber and had worked at Los Angeles International Airport. He was a student at California State University at Long Beach.
He was born June 24, 1961, at Wamego, Kan., the son of Norman and Charlotte Decker Steele. He graduated from St. Marys High School in 1979 and from Kansas State University with an associate of science degree.
Mr. Steele was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Charlotte and Kenneth Kling, St. Marys, Kan.; his father, Norman Steele, Manhattan, Kan.; a sister, Pamela DelCastillo, Long Beach; a brother, Russell Steele, Wamego, Kan.; and grandparents, Willa Steele, St. Marys, Kan., and Ernest Decker, Rossville, Kan.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Marys United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery at St. Marys. He will lie in state after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys United Methodist Church or Hospital Home Health Hospice, 1343 N. Valencia, Fullerton CA 92633.
