Obituary- Stevens, Harold
Harold Stevens
Harold Stevens, 83, Flemmington, Mo., formerly of Topeka, died Monday, April 5, 1993, at a Springfield, Mo., hospital.
Mr. Stevens farmed, was a construction worker and operated dump trucks until he retired in 1968.
He was born May 31, 1909, at Willard, the son of Albert and Cornelia Viergever Stevens. He attended Rossville High School. He lived in Topeka and the Topeka area until he moved to Flemmington, Mo., in 1968.
He was married to Florence Malm May 31, 1932, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Marsha Diehl, Topeka, and Cornelia Van Horn, Anacortes, Wash.; a son, Steven Stevens, Oskaloosa; two sisters, Esther Dean, Seattle, and Roberta McKay, Moscow, Idaho; two brothers, Howard Stevens, Aberdeen, Idaho, and Homer Stevens, Mancos, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Stevens will lie in state after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 5375 S.W. 7th, 66606.
