Obituary- Stevens, John 2
JOHN STEVENS
John Stevens, 83, of Rossville, died July 23 in a Topeka hospital. He was born February 10, 1875, in Schenectady, N. Y., and lived in Shawnee County since he was four years old. He operated the Texaco Service Station here 30 years. He was a member of the Rossville Methodist Church.
He and Mrs. Stevens observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary November 3, 1957. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons. H. Luther Stevens, Yakima, Wash., Glenn H. Stevens, Wichita, and Kenneth L. Stevens, Topeka; a daughter, Mrs. Lelia Hassett, Topeka; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Stevens, Rossville, and Albert Stevens, Willard; and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Givens, Rossville.
Funeral services were at 2:30 pm Friday at the Rossville Methodist Church with burial in Dover Cemetery.
