Obituary- Stewart, Mae
Mae Stewart
Mrs. Mae Stewart, 68 died Wednesday morning at her home in Rossville after a long period of illness and inability to get out of her home. For 27 years her husband, Elmer Stewart, had given her his entire time in looking after her welfare.
She was born May 28, 1883, near McLouth and had made her home in the Rossville community 48 years.
She and Mr. Stewart came here when her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Alexander took over a grocery store from John Jamieson, Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Rossville Methodist church and the S.B.A.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer Stewart, of the home; and a sister Mrs. Grace Davis, Rossville and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rossville Methodist church, with burial in Rossville cemetery.

May M. Stewart was born May 28, 1883, near McLouth, Kansas, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Alexander. She spent her childhood in that community. She was united in marriage to Elmer Stewart on Christmas Day 1901.
She and her husband and parents came to Rossville in October, 1904, and remained here the rest of her life.
She was stricken with paralysis in 1931 and was a patient invalid until her death April 23, 1952. Through all those years of suffering she had the devoted care of her husband. Other survivors is a sister, Mrs. Grace Davis and several nieces and nephews.
She was laid to rest in Rossville cemetery.
