Obituary- Stiles, Cordon
Cordon W. Stiles
OAK HARBOR, Wash. – Services, were at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Burley Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, for Cordon W. Stiles, 68, Coupeville, Wash., formerly of Topeka. He died Saturday, June 23, at a Seattle hospital.
Mr. Stiles worked in several capacities at the Hanford Atomic Plant, Richland, Wash., from 1951 until he retired in 1977. He worked for Santa Fe Railway at Topeka before he moved to Washington in 1951. Mr. Stiles served in the Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945.
He was born Jan. 3, 1916, at Rossville, the son of Arthur and Alice Stiles.
Mr. Stiles was a member of the First Congregational Church and REACT Citizen’s Band radio operators’ emergency team, both at Oak Harbor.
He was married Nov. 27, 1938, at Topeka, to Jewell May Richmond. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Cordon Eugene Stiles, Yakima, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Stiles Kline, Lynnwood, Wash., a grandchild, two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. today in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Ore.
