Obituary- Stum, Lottie 1

Lottie T. Stum
ROSSVILLE - Lottie T. Stum, 94, Rossville, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at Rossville Valley Manor, in Rossville. She was born Aug. 7, 1910, at Delia, the daughter of Albin and Teresa Balusek Besta. She grew up in the Delia community and lived in the Delia and Rossville communities all her life. She farmed with her husband, John, until he retired. Later, she worked at Seymour Foods in Topeka until she retired. She then became an active quilter with the Delia Presbyterian Church ladies. She was a member of Rossville Christian Church, Moravian Lodge No. 128, and was a charter member of the U S. Bank MESA Club, all at Rossville. She married John Stum on April 11, 1928, at Alma. He preceded her in death in August 1972. Also preceding her was a son, Duane Stum, in June 1996. Surviving are two daughters, Sara Horak, Delia, and Agnes Cox, Maple Hill; a son, Wilbur Stum Sr., Rossville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-grandsons. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery, Rossville. Mrs. Stum will lie in state after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Piper Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Rossville Christian Church or to Heart of America Hospice, and sent in care of the Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys, Kan. 66536.
