Mrs. Esther A. Terrill
BURLINGAME — Mrs. Esther A.
Terrill, 72, Burlingame, died Monday, June 11, at her home.
She was a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Nursing and was employed more than 20 years as a registered nurse at Topeka State Hospital.
She lived in Burlingame since 1950.
She was born Nov. 22, 1911, at Rossville, the daughter of William and Anna Hejtmanek Covar [sic Kovar].
Mrs. Terrill was a member of the Burlingame Federated Church and the Sunshine Extension Homemakers Unit. She hybridized irises for over 30 years and was a member of several international iris societies. She had won several bakery prizes and was the second-place winner in the 1953 Pillsbury Bake-Off.
She was married to Joe Terrill Feb. 8, 1942, in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Dr. Jerry Terrill, Houston, Tex., a sister, Lucille Covar, Topeka, and a grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Burlingame Federated Church. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. in the Czech-Moravian Cemetery at Delia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Burlingame Federated Church. Carey Funeral Home, Burlingame, is in charge of arrangements.
