Obituary- Thomas, Kenneth 1

Kenneth R. Thomas
Kenneth Roland “Knod No Skuk” Thomas, 66, Delia, died Monday, June 9,1997, at his home.

Mr. Thomas worked in con-struction in the Topeka area. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953.

He was born March 31,1931, in Jackson County, the son of Charles K. and Lillian C. Shopteese Thomas. He was adopted by Erma Pequano and Andy Mitchell. He was a lifelong resident of the Delia community.

Mr. Thomas was a member of the Prairie Band of the Potawatomi Tribe and part of the Kickapoo Tribe. He was a member of Post No. 410 of the American Legion and was a spiritual leader in the Indian Drum Religion.

Survivors include his adoptive parents, Erma Pequano and Andy Mitchell, Mayetta; two sisters, Etheleene Chenault, Topeka, and La Veda Wahweotten, Hoyt; and five brothers. Marlin Thomas, Charles Thomas and Melvin Thomas, all of Delia, Dale Thomas, Brimley, Mich., and Bob Hubbard, Lecompton.

Drum services were Thursday evening at the Dance Ground west of Mayetta. Burial was in the Dance Ground Cemetery, under direction of Mercer Funeral Home, Holton.
