Gloria C. Thompson
Gloria C. Thompson, 64, Willard, died Sunday, May 26, 1996, at a Topeka hospital.

She was born November 24, 1931, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Alden L. and Anna K. Sharp Campbell.

She lived in the Willard com-munity since July 1,1981.

She grew up in Gashland (Kansas City North) and was graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1949. Mrs. Thompson was an L.P.N. at Smithville- Spellman Memorial Hospital in Smithville, MO. She worked for the Doctors’ Clinic in Platte City, MO, and at the geriatric unit in Smithville, MO. She was a member of the Rossville Christian Church, Rossville, and the ladies quilting group at the church, the Rossville Literary and Music Circle, auxiliary of the Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the Rossville American Legion, and a past member of the Silver Lake Community choir. She was active in scouting in Missouri.

She was married to Guy O. Thompson, Jr., on August 26,1949 at Ottawa. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Catie Thompson.

Other survivors include three sons, Edward Lee Thompson, Salt Lake City, UT; Ronald Dean Thompson, Smithville, MO; Jeffrey Alan Thompson, Memphis, TN; a daughter, Charlene Ashley, Nevada, MO; a sister, Janeane Butterfield, Overland Park; 17 grandchildren and three great¬grandchildren.

Her service was at 1:00 Friday at the Rossville Christian Church. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. Family visitation was from 6:30 until 8:00 Thursday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville Christian Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
