Obituary- Tibbs, Dora

Mrs. Dora Tibbs
Mrs. Dora Beatrice Howell Tibbs, 92, Grove, died Saturday, March 28, at a Topeka hospital.

She and her husband formerly farmed in the Grove community.

Mrs. Tibbs was born Nov. 18, 1894, at Grove, the daughter of Thomas and Amanda Dietrich Howell.

She was a member of First Baptist Church at Silver Lake.

She was married to Harry Pence Tibbs Oct. 24, 1916, at Grove. He died Jan. 31, 1986.

Survivors include two sons, DeLloyd Tibbs, Winterhaven, Fla., and Gerald Tibbs, Wichita; three daughters, Nadine Brown, Republic, and Marjorie Hromada and Marvalie Johnson, both of Topeka; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery near Grove. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Silver Lake United Methodist Church or First Baptist Church at Silver Lake.
