Obituary- Tibbs, Harry

Harry Pence Tibbs
Harry Pence Tibbs, 92, Silver Lake, died Friday, January 31, 1986, at a Topeka hospital.

Mr. Tibbs was a farmer.

He was born October 8, 1893, in the Grove community northwest of Topeka, the son of George Edward and Mary Jones Tibbs.

Mr. Tibbs was a member of Silver Lake United Methodist Church.

He was married to Dora B. Howell October 24, 1916, at Grove. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Nadine Brown, Republic, and Mrs. Marvalie Johnson and Mrs. Marjorie Hromada, both of Topeka; two sons, DeLloyd Tibbs, Winterhaven, Fla., and Gerald Tibbs, Wichita; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services were at 9 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial was in Walnut Hill Cemetery near Grove. The family met with friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Silver Lake United Methodist Church, Silver Lake, 66539.

SILVER LAKE – Harry P. Tibbs, 92, Silver Lake, died Friday, Jan. 31, at a Topeka hospital.

Arrangements are pending at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery at Silver Lake.
