Carroll R. Timmons
DELIA — Carroll Rhoten Timmons, 84, Delia, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 1995, at a nursing home in Rossville.

He was born June 25, 1911, in the Laclede community in Pottawatomie County, the son of Riley and Viola Baxter Timmons, and spent his early life in the Wamego, Onaga and Laclede communities. He worked in a Civilian Conservation Corps camp from 1931 to 1933 and erected telephone and power lines in Wisconsin.

He was a farmer and drove a truck route for Stauffer Publications 32 years, having had more than 200,000 miles of. accident-free driving. He was a Capital-Journal carrier in Rossville from 1942 to 1991. He spent most of his life in the Delia community.

He was married to Cordelia Bell Carley June 6, 1937, in Wamego. She survives. A son, George Timmons; died in infancy. Another son, Donald Eugene Timmons, died in 1990.

Survivors include a daughter, Pauline M. Conley, Delia; a son, Robert Dale Timmons, Topeka; a sister, Betty Kusler, Longmont, Colo.; two brothers, Melvin Timmons Sr., Topeka, and Lyle Timmons, Manhattan; eight grandchildren; three stepgrand- children; five great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Rossville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Timmons will lie in state from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Marys.
