Wilbur J. Tomson, 73, Delia, died Monday, Dec. 13. 1993, at his home.

Mr. Tomson was a farmer and stockman before he retired.

He was born March 18, 1919, in the Bethel Chapel community northeast of Silver Lake, the son of Kenneth and Nora Lewis Tomson. He was graduated from Silver Lake High School and spent his life in the Rossville and Silver Lake communities.

Mr. Tomson was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia, charter member and first president of the Delia Lions Club and a past member of Delia School Board.

He was married to Margaret A. Dohrman Aug. 23, 1942, in St. Marys. She survives. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Other survivors include two daughters, Linda Acker, St. Marys, and Carol Kincaid, Wamego; two sons, Gary Tomson and Lloyd Tomson, both of Rossville; a sister, Faye Marney, Topeka; a brother, Harold Tomson, Sabetha; and nine grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial was at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, St. Marys.

Wilbur J. Tomson
Wilbur J. Tomson, 74, died at his rural Delia home Monday, December 13, 1993.

He was born March 18, 1919, in the Bethel Chapel community northeast of Silver Lake. He was the son of Kenneth and Nora Lewis Tomson.

August 23, 1942, he was married to Margaret A. Dohrman in St. Marys. She survives.

Mr. Tomson was a retired farmer. He graduated from Silver Lake High School, and had lived in the Rossville and Silver Lake areas all of his life.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Delia, a charter member and first president of the Delia Lions Club, past member of the Delia School Board.

Other survivors include two sons, Gary Tomson and Lloyd Tomson, Rossville; two daughters, Linda Acker, St. Marys, and Carol Kincaid, Wamego; one brother, Harold Tomson, Sabetha; one sister, Faye Marney, Topeka; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jayme Kincaid in 1985 and J.J. Acker in 1989.

He will lie in state after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Verschelden Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday (this evening) at Verschelden's.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 Wednesday morning at the Immaculate Conception Church, St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.

The family has requested memorial to Community Hospice, St. Marys.
