Obituary- Trahoon, Louis
LOUIS L. [Foxy] TRAHOON
Louis L. (Foxy) Trahoon, 83, Rossville, died Friday, September 21, 1979, at a Topeka hospital.
He was born November 5, 1895, at St. Marys, the son of Andrew J. and Emma Curwick Trahoon, and lived in the Rossville community all his life.
Mr. Trahoon retired in 1961 as a road grader operator for Rossville Township
and Shawnee County.
He was a veteran, having served at Edgewood, Md., during World War I. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and Jimmy Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion, both at Rossville, and Veterans of World War I of U.S. A., Inc., Topeka.
He was married to Thresa McConnell on January 3, 1921, at Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Helen Matney, 834 N.W. 39th, and Mrs. Shirley Tregemba, Kansas City; two sons, Floyd Trahoon, 3819 Munson, and Rolland Trahoon, Route 8, both of Topeka; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Langton, Topeka; a brother, Walter Trahoon, Topeka; 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery with military graveside services by Jimmy Lillard Post No. 31. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Verschelden Funeral Home St. Marys.
Pall bearers were Roland Parr, Chris Viergever, Orville Strimple, Larry Hudson, George Sullivan, John A. Wehner.
