Obituary- Tucker, Willard

Dr. W.O. Tucker

Dr. Willard O. Tucker, prominent area veterinarian, died Wednesday evening in Veterans Hospital in Topeka. He was 81.

Services were at 11a.m. Monday in Wall-Diffenderfer Chapel, Topeka, with burial at 2 that afternoon in National Cemetery, Ft. Leavenworth.

Dr. Tucker was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War I. In the Spanish - American War, he served in the fifth U. S. Cavalry. He was in the Veterinary Corps during World War I.

He was born March 26, 1881 in Netawaka, and received his basic education in Louisville, Kansas. Later he attended Kansas State College and Washburn University. He was a 1917 graduate of the Kansas City, Mo. Veterinary College and practiced veterinary medicine until his death, with offices in both St. Marys and Rossville.

He was a member of the Kansas State Veterinary Assn., Masonic Lodge, Wamego, and the Rossville American Legion Post. He had been a resident of St. Marys since 1950.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Grace Tucker of St. Marys; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Meyer, Rossville, and Mrs. Doris Ince, Junction City; a sister, Mrs. D. C. Arnold, Boise, Idaho; five grand-children and three great-grandchildren.
