Obituary- Vacek, Lillian

Lillian Mable Vacek
WAMEGO — Lillian Mable Vacek, 87, Wamego, died Sunday, March 5, 1995, at a Wamego nursing home.

Mrs. Vacek owned and operated a restaurant for 50 years and also was a blues singer in Kansas City-area night clubs when she was young woman.

She was born April 30, 1907, in the Oklahoma Territory, the daughter of John and Martha Ellen Snyder. She had lived in Junction City, Herington, Solomon, Topeka and Kansas City, Kan., before she moved to Wamego 19 years ago.

She was married to John Vacek in 1955 in Nebraska. He survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Rosalie L. Wasson, St. Petersburg, Fla.; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at R.J. Evans Mortuary in Wamego. Burial will be at the Czech Moravan Cemetery northeast of Rossville. Mrs. Vacek will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
