Marie Vacek
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary for Marie L. Vacek, 84, 7412 W. 6th, formerly of 131 N. Quinton, who died Monday in a Topeka hospital where she was admitted May 29. She had an abdominal ailment.

She was born March 15, 1886, in Poland and had lived in the United States 78 years. She spent her early life in the Delia community and spent the past 15 years in Topeka.

Miss Vacek worked for the American Red Cross in New Jersey during World War I and later spent 15 years as a social worker at Columbus and Dayton, both in Ohio. She worked 25 years at Howell Neighborhood House at Chicago, before she retired. She worked a year at a Presbyterian mission school in Alaska.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Four nephews and three nieces survive.

Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery near Delia.
