Obituary- Verhage, Edna

Edna I. Verhage
Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 1992, in the Christian Church, Tonganoxie, for Edna I. Verhage, 81, who died Tuesday, December 31, 1991, at home.

She was born April 5, 1910, in Rossville, the daughter of Charles Edward and Sadie Stumb Baird.

Mrs. Vehage was a member of the Christian Church in Tonganoxie.

She was married to Richard J. Verhage on July 1, 1927, in Topeka. He survives.

Other survivors include six daughters, Shirley Schultz and Norma Van Dyke, both of Tonganoxie, Joan Vance, Edwardsville, Ill., Betty Earls, Lawrence, Donna Throop, Parker, Colo., and Janice Myracle, Leavenworth; two sisters, Jean Mee, Oklahoma, and Billye Boslic, Rossville; a brother, Lester Baird, Neosho, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Hubble Hill Cemetery west of Tonganoxie.

Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie was in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association, or the Christian Church in Tonganoxie and left at the funeral home.
