Obituary- Viergever, Gladis 2

Gladis Viergever
Mrs. Gladis Alethia Viergever, 85, Rossville, died Sunday, January 23, 1994, at the Rossville Valley Manor.

She was born January 13, 1909, in Horton, the daughter of Ezra C. and Laura E. Hause Brooks, and spent most of her life in the Rossville and Willard communities. She was graduated from Rossville High School and taught a year in a rural school.

She was a member of the Christian Church in Rossville, the church quilters. Cake Arts Club of Topeka, West Union Happy Hour Club, and the auxiliary to Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville.

She was married to Joe H. Viergever May 23, 1928, in Willard. He died April 4, 1980. A son, Larry Viergever, died in 1931. Another son, Max Loren Viergever, died December 28, 1987.

Survivors include a son, Robert W. Viergever, Route 8, Topeka; a sister, Mrs. Pearl McGrew, Rossville; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Viergever will lie in state after 11 a.m. Tuesday (today) at the Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.

Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at be Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.
