Obituary- Viergever, Andy 2

Viergever
Andy J. Viergever, 89, Rossville, died Monday, March 18, 1996, at a hospital in Topeka.

He was born Dec. 9, 1906, in Willard, the son of Daniel and Anna Rotman Viergever, and spent most of his life in the Rossville community. He was a carpenter and a farmer before he retired in 1971.

He was a member of the Baptist Church in Willard and had been a deacon and treasurer at the church many years.

He was married to Lula L. Sim-mons March 10, 1931, in Topeka. She survives. A daughter, Kathy Viergever, died Oct. 31, 1963. A son, Glen M. Viergever, died Aug. 4,1993.

Other survivors include five sons, Don Viergever, Maple Hill, Tony Viergever, Grove, Okla., Larry Viergever, Sarasota, Fla., David Viergever, Morton, Ill., and Darrell Viergever, Mayetta; two daughters, Helen Viergever, Rossville, and Rose Marie Anderson, Topeka; two brothers, Walter Viergever and Charles Viergever, both in Topeka; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery, Dover.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Willard Baptist Church and sent in care of the Rev. Ray Canfield, 902 Frazier, 66606.

Andy Viergever Andy J. Viergever, 89, Rossville, died Monday, March 18, 1996, at a Topeka hospital.

1906, in Willard, the son of Daniel and Anna Rotman Viergever, and spent most of his life in the Rossville community. He was a carpenter and a fanner before he retired in 1971. He also worked for the Dover Township.

He was a member of the Baptist Church in Willard and had been a deacon and treasurer at the church many years. He served on the West Union School Board.

He was married to Lula L. Simmons March 10, 1931, in Topeka. She survives. A daughter, Kathy Viergever, died October 31, 1963. A son, Glen M. Viergever, Died August 4, 1993. A grandson, Rodney Viergever, also preceded him in death.

Other survivors include five sons, Don Viergever, Maple Hill, Tony Viergever, Grove, Okla., Larry Viergever, Sarasota, Fla., David Viergever, Morion, Ill., and Darrell Viergever, Mayetta; two daughters, Helen Viergever, Rossville, and Rose Marie Anderson, Topeka; two brothers, Walter Viergever and Charles Viergever, both in Topeka; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends met from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Parker- Price Mortuary in Topeka. His service was a 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment was in Dover Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Willard Baptist Church and sent in care of the Rev. Ray Canfield, 902 Frazier, Topeka 66606, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
