Mae Martinek Brown

Mae Marcella Martinek Brown, 86, one of 13 children born to Vincent and Agnes Simecka Martinek, Rossville, die Tuesday evening, September 14, 1993, at her home in Kansas City, Mo.
A graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing in Topeka in 1927, Mae worked as a registered nurse in Topeka, St. Louis and Kansas City, Mo.
She was a member of the Research Medical Center Auxiliary.
She lived with her husband, Dr. Arian J Brown, in Kansas City, Mo. Together they raised twin daughters, Janette Brown, Seattle, Wash., and Jeanine Brown, Woodland Hills, Calif.
Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Victor #101 school in Rossville and of the Immaculate Conception School, St Marys. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Delia.
In addition to her husband and daughters, Mrs. Brown is survived by two brothers, Bennie Martinek, Wimberley, Tex., and Henry Martinek, Rossville; and a sister, Helen Macha, Rossville.
Visitation for friends and family was from 9 to 10 a.m. preceding the funeral mass at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Kansas City, Mo., on Friday September 17. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City. Arrangements were handled by McGilley Midtown Chapel, Kansas City, Mo.

Mae Marcella Martinek Brown, 86, Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Topeka, died Tuesday, Sept.14, 1993, at her home.
Mrs. Brown was a private duty and public health nurse at Topeka and Kansas City, Mo. She retired about 1948.
She was born Sept. 20, 1906, at Rossville, the daughter of Vincent and Agnes Simecka Martinek. She was graduated in 1926 from St. Francis School of Nursing in Topeka.
Mrs. Brown was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Research Hospital Women’s Auxiliary both in Kansas City, Mo.
She was married to Dr. Adam J. Brown in 1933 in Baltimore, Md. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Janette Brown, Seattle, Wash., and Jeanine Brown, Woodland Hills, Calif.; a sister, Helen Macha, Rossville; and two brothers, Bennie Martinek, Waverly, Texas and Henry Martinek, Rossville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at Kansas City, Kan. Visitation will be from 9 until 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo. McGilley Midtown Chapel of Kansas City, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
