Joy ‘Grandma’ A. Waymire
Joy “Grandma” A. Waymire, 71, passed away March 22, 2013, at Oakley Place, Topeka. She was born Oct 21,1941, in Delia.

She married Ronald E. Waymire Sr. on Sept. 21,1958; they had three children, who survive, Ronald Waymire Jr. and wife Lori of Delia, Troy Waymire and wife Jennifer Reser of Meriden, and Zoe Bock and husband Kevin of Leavenworth. She is survived by two brothers, Bill Sipes and Clyde Sipes and his wife Janet; a sister, Becky Lindsay and husband Richard; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years in 2006, her parents and a grandson, Chad Roberts, in 2011.

Joy loved spending time with her family and friends, dancing, gardening, the lake and playing TV Pacman. Her motto was “The more the merrier." She worked at Washburn University in the cafeteria and was known to all as “Grandma.” She donated her body to the KU Willed Body Program.

A memorial service was held at Mayetta Christian Church, March 30. Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital, Resource Development Dept., 2401 Gillham, Kansas City, MO 64108.
