Joy “Grandma” A. Waymire
Joy "Grandma” A. Waymire, age 71, passed away March 22, 2013 at Oakley Place, Topeka, KS. She was born Oct 21,1941, in Delia, KS. She married Ronald E. Waymire, Sr. on September 21, 1958, they had three children, Ronald Waymire, Jr, (Lori) of Delia, KS, Troy Waymire,(Jennifer Reser) Meriden, KS, Zoe Bock, (Kevin) of Leavenworth, KS. Survived by 2 Brothers Bill and Clyde(Janet) Sipes and Sister Becky (Richard) Lindsay. 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years in 2006, her parents and a grandson Chad Roberts in 2011. Joy loved spending time with her family and friends, dancing, gardening, the lake and playing TV pac-man. Her motto was “The more the merrier”. She worked at Washburn University in the cafeteria and was known to all as “Grandma”. She donated her body to the KU Willed Body Program. A memorial service will be held at Mayetta Christian Church, 212 E Jones St, Mayetta, KS 66509, Saturday, March 30th at 2 pm.
