Obituary- Wehe, John
John Jacob Wehe
John Jacob Wehe, 88, plumber in Topeka for many years, died Sunday at his home, 1301 West Sixth Ave. He was born May 25, 1853, in Aurora, Ind., came to Kansas in 1879, and had been a resident of Topeka for the past sixty years. In the early nineties he was employed by the Santa Fe Railway Company as a clerk. Later he entered the plumbing business with his brother, John Wesley Wehe and Charles Bennett, taking over the Robert Mood Plumbing Company, which he operated for many years.
He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 1, Topeka; A.O. U.W., and Naoma Rebekah Lodge No. 95, Topeka.
Surviving are two brothers, Harry Wehe, Topeka and Dr. Charles A. Wehe, Anthony, Kan.; two sisters, Miss Emma Wehe, Topeka, and Mrs. Lydia W. Crabill, also of Topeka; several nieces and nephews.
The body was taken to the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary pending funeral arrangement. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery.
